I think that because the power structure, the native government, was able to say, like, as white people, you need to listen when i, as the native leader, am saying, I think they felt like their hands were tied. And a, and then, some of them would have felt exactly the way that i'm describing h you know, they would have felt like this is the same kind of like, this is the power structure doing the same thing that it always does. You think it might also have something to do with, well, if i persist with despite what the person, you know, the respected figure in my society is saying, that i could have some social repercussions
