i think one book a week is about average for grad school. Your teacher probably understands that you have limited time, so i would say start with getting an idea of the book by reading as much as possible. Forty pages a day doesn't seem that crazy, but 200 pages a week is like, oh, that's kind of a lot. So again, i mean to say it is a priority. It is home work.
