The Japanese Defense Force Never Intervenes in the Rest of the World
In extreme right circles in Japan, one of the many reasons why Mishima is a controversial figure is because he's criticized the emperor Hirohita at the end of the Second World War. It's difficult to imagine a human being who's worshipped as a god in Western terms. The de-divinization of the leadership of Japan in the post-war period was part of the American recasting of Japan so that it would never be a threat again.
