Is Marriage a Part of John Paul II's Life?
St. John of the cross very often speaks about the spiritual life in union with God in nuptial imagery. And so does St. Teresa of Avila, in fact. So I think there is this drawing on that early experience. It's fascinating to my parents who are actually married on December 14th. They're approaching 50 years.
