The Metaphysical Transformation of Moral Transformation

Schopenhauer thinks that moral transformation, where we begin to be compassionate, is conditioned by a transformation of consciousness. He was reading classical indian philosophy from 18 14 - four years or so before the first edition of the world as will and representation. And yes, his metaphysics do resemble these systems of philo in so far as he thinks that individuality is a illusion, and he also thinks that the true reality is some kind of shared universal drive.
