Isaac Newton Figured Out Calculus During a Pandemic

A tangent line is the derivative. And at any point along the way, if the derivative is positive, that means the functions going up at that point. As you start walking down, the derivative is negative. So the slope of that line is negative. All this is entirely common sense when you look at or think about data, even as a lay person.
