Emotions are alerting us to our needs chiming in. What could it say? For example, anger exists to alert us when our boundaries are being crossed. And then after you notice what it's trying to tell you to do, make a plan to assess those needs and implement it. Any emotion is extra and can be accepted, but you don't need to feel obligated to address it. Just let it stand on its own; that's the perfect way of talking about it.
