Introduction

The topic of wisdom is a rare topic to be considered in the university context today. There's an opposition to what are called metanarratives, big pictures and grand theories. At the same time though, as we'll find out, there is a kind of wisdom put forward in our contemporary society that's more or less the predominant wisdom. We're going to discuss that tonight as we go.
