How to Train for Strength

You wouldn't want to just be doing deadlift. The further out you are from your test, you would probably do well to include just a broad base of strength in your training. You don't need to train the hex bar deadlift to develop lower body strength and having lower body strength will serve you well on that event. There's the annoying balance element that comes in of making sure you can your hand placement right so it doesn't tip real bad.
