The Sadness of Chimps in the Wild

The way these chimps are trained in their showbiz life is so strict and so repetitive that by the time they go into the sanctuary, they can't do anything else. But isn't that a kind of from an animal welfare point of view? Certainly, if I saw a chimp making tea for another chimp or just to take another example, a chimp wearing a sequin jacket,. tap dancing and juggling bananas - there's definitely a sense like this isn't what they were meant to be doing in the wild.
