US Steel Leasing Prisoners by Choice

US Steel didn't stop leasing prisoners by choice. It only stopped because they were outmaneuvered and other companies won those contracts. The company did end its contracts for convict labor in 1912, 16 years before Alabama became the last state to outlaw the practice.
