Theology of Theosis

Lutheran theology is deeply rooted in Protestant liberalism that we really haven't actually reckoned with. In some ways I don't know that there's really much of an ability in a lot of seminaries to reckon with it because we've all gotten rid of our philosophy departments. So when I say things like Theosis or this mystical union and people hear that today and they say you sound that doesn't sound Lutheran that sounds Eastern Orthodox. This idea that God became man that man might become God is referred to as theosis or deification a process where we are deified.
