The Pay Gap Between Men and Women in the UK
People from diverse ethnic backgrounds on the whole earn far less than white people in the UK. Bangladeshis earn 42% less, Pakistanis 22% and the black Caribbean 13%. The second and third generation have made up some of those pay gaps - but they are still concerning. Their wages are driven by the sectors that they're in and the precarity of them sectors. Social mobility amongst ethnic minorities over the last 20 or so years has significantly risen through education.
