What Are the Most Important Deities in the Vedas?
Different groups within indian civilization sometimes focus more on particular gods. The most important god in the vedas is indra, who deploys lightning and thunder. There is also runa, a ruler god who is the upholder of law and order. Some are understood as embodiments of natural forces like wind or water.
