The Death of Tyrono Kiyomori

Tyrono Kiyomori was the grandson of Fujiwara Emperor Antoku. In 1180, Kamano Chome abandoned Kyoto and retired to the countryside. One of Goshira Kala's sons raised his own forces and rebellion against Tyra. Mochikitō's forces were crushed at the outskirts of Kyoto; in the process major temples were burned to the ground. This act turned public opinion very strongly againstKiyomori and his family. Later accounts describe him as tortured by the spirits of his victims,. developing a fever so bad that those who touch him were burned. He was then consumed by Hellfire.
