We're really charting new territory for Christianity for the church, he says. There have only been three main areas over roughly 2000 year history of the Christian church in regard to spiritual context and communication. The early church faced a largely pagan culture and embodied a pre-modern form of communication. By 100 AD, there were around estimates of 7,500 followers by the mid-300s, more than 30 million called themselves followers of Christ.
