The State Is the Central Player in the Four Worlds
To move away from fossil fuels, we need to do the one thing that markets fundamentalists hate, and that's called planning. So, cast your minds to 2100 and a world after capitalism as we know it. In many ways, this world resembles our own. There are still markets for many, many things. The state isn't involved in making chocolate bars, or socks, or silk ties. But it is the central player in these four things we all need for liberty. Housing, education, health care, and transport.
