Gile De Ray and the Blue Beard Fairy Tale
Gile de Ray has been said by some to be the basis of the blue beard fairy tale. It first appeared in written form in Charles Perot's 1697 story collection called Tales of Mother Goose. This of course is where we also get the modern versions of Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood.
