Is Brinks' Matte Gold in All the Jewelry Buying in Britain Since 1984?
Three tons of Brinks' matte gold was stolen in 1983-84. Rob Eastaway calculated how many engagement rings could have been made from it. He says there are around 70 million Britons over the age of 20 who may have acquired a bit of gold jewelry since 1984. The maths whiz concludes that 30 million people might be entitled to some kind of jewellery.
