Gija lavogije, who has popularized a lacan, often talks about the murder of the thing. We are mourning loss that has happened to us at a time that we can't recall. And so cristeva has this great quote wher she says something like, do not look for the meaning in mourning. I understand that there's only meaning because we mourn.
