The Effect of Expected Rewards on Internal Motivation
When we receive an unexpected reward for something, it's how our brains have evolved that we try to figure out why we got it. Does expected rewards change things in a way that is better or worse than unexpected rewards? And the conclusion that I take from many articles published on this is that expected rewards should be a little worse on your internal motivation than if they're unexpected.
