Warrants are basically official permission given to law enforcement to do something. A warrant is a document that authorizes the police or another law enforcement agent to issue an arrest, conduct a premises search or carry out some other action. Warrant requirements fall under the fourth amendment to the us Constitution. You'll need to know both when a warrant is required and what is required for law enforcement to get a warrant.
