Descriptive and Procedural Memory

There is a difference between declarative and procedural memory. Declarative memory just sits there and waits to be called on by procedural memory for information. In an experiment, people were asked to do special kind of arithmetic but with letters. They found that if you keep on repeating the same questions, people eventually start to get really fast in their reaction times.
