Bob Murray's Story

Bob Murray began working in coal mines at 16 years old just like his father. In 1988 Bob sold his children's toys, mortgaged his home and purchased his very first coal mine. The Murray Energy Corporation would become the largest underground coal mining company in the United States of America. Retreat mining is one of the most profitable types of mining there is. It extracts almost every last bit of coal that a mine contains.
