i was brought up in a family where i believed that we were, you know, successful. And what led me to london, when i left er home at 18 d came to london,. wasn't because i was looking for some sort of career in politi or whitehall, or anything like that. I'd just heard that the civil service were recruiting secretaries with no experience, but based on their qualifications. When i applied, i had no idea that meant i would have to leave home and go to london. That's, that's how i arrived in london. And am, and from there, i went to washington.
