I would be lying if I said I wasn't deeply, deeply nervous and nerves which will only grow as we get towards next Sunday. The 2018 election was dominated by the question of corruption in a way that 2022 is not. Apart from what we'll talk about later dismantling anti-corruption and accountability mechanisms, he has effectively sanctioned the whole scale systemic bribery of Congress to secure coalition. So in effect, he's institutionalized this form of influence trading corruption to a great degree than perhaps ever before in the post-1985 Brazilian order.
