The Cerebellum and the Dancer's Brain
Think of a miniature brain located posteriorly and just underneath the cerebellum. Cerebellum provides this coordination to our muscle or motor activity. So proprioception, understanding weight in your own space, picking up signals coming from proprioceptive receptors in muscles and tendons. It stops you from over-contracting and flipping yourself backwards with so much contractile force.
