The Challenges for New Indie Authors

There's been a real shift, especially in my particular genre, and a couple of other genres where people see that self publishing is it like this, the ugly steps sister to traditional publishing. I also think that if you don't have the business sense, if you don’t treat publishing being an independent publisher, or being an indie author means that you are your own publisher. And then it does make more sense to go with a traditional publisher because they'll handle all the business,. But if you love the business side, if you love creating budgets and tracking data and learning about best practices and sharing best practices, then I think that independent publishing makes a lot of sense.
