The Expressive Writing Exercise Helped Students Play Better the Second Time Around
Piano students were given ten minutes to write about an event that happened recent. The expressive writing group committed only four point two two errors in their performance following the exercise. High self talkers had about 12 and a half fewer errors after the expressive writing compared to their base line performance without the exercise. Low self talkers didn't really benefit as much, with a decrease of only three point seven five errors which wasn't statistically significant.
