Jay Parini: I read a book called yourself solid by Michael Portman. He says he learned that you write out exactly what you want to accomplish and then you articulate who you need to be in terms of the qualities and characteristics. The third step is writing down which specific actions you're going to take every day, like affirmations or visualization. Parini: In less than two months it was a compound effect, 1% better every day. We haven't even seen what's going to happen in 2008, but when it got worse, oh, if I more than doubled my income in just 2 months!
