The Challenge of Maintenance in the Battle of Bulge
How often are fighter pilots flying? Do they fly, you know, every few days, every day, three times a day? It's sort of dependent on the pace of operations at the time. The challenge there was not for the pilots in a lot of cases, it was for the guys who were maintaining the aircraft. There really was a P-47 shortage from July 44, almost all through the war.
