The Use of Cognitive Linguistics in Biblical Studies

Cognitive linguistics is still trying to find its footing within biblical scholarship. There are ways that it's been applied productively, I think there are other ways that it has been applied in ways that have not been widely accepted or so productive. We don't have to explain a lot of the things that we do because it scratches an intuitive itch for us and people just don't care to question them. But if all the sides agree on something that is not easily explainable, I think we just let it come from the cemetery.
