The New Transaction Mechanism Is More User Friendly

Miners are more likely to want to hoddle eath on their balance sheets than sell immediately, precisely because they think it will be worth more in the future. Less selling pressure by miners means less impact on the price. This is perhaps the reason why eth rallied post fork and didn't dump as many may have been expecting.
