When Protestants make their way to the Catholic Church, there is a fairly good chance that their journey began or included a stop of some length in the Anglican communion. Many people end up in Anglicanism because they believe they finally found the one holy Catholic and apostolic Church there. At various times in English history, since the 16th century, there have been high church and low church movements,. liberal and conservative movements. The overtly Protestant things that had overtaken Anglicanism during the centuries of separation from Rome simply needed to be explained differently - or done away with.
