Lewis and Tolkien's Angelology

Tolkien and Lewis are doing a very similar project here. What we see going on with the Valar is these high ruling spirits in Arda. It's very similar to what Lewis does with the space trilogy and the archons that rule Mars and Venus. So if anything, I would say this is another instance in which Lewis is borrowing one of Tolkien's great ideas.
