There has been a long standing assault from the right that tells people over and over and over again that you can't trust the media because it has a liberal bias. I think sometimes bias is in the eye of the beholder, but i think that you really need to see this as a deliberate political strategy. The degradation of trusted local news actually is far more conservative than most of us recognize. It's about what keeps eyeballs plugged to the screen one way or the other. And whether that's conservative or liberal is erelevant.
