Asher: Why do you want to write a novel that's more like a novel than before? And is your attraction to doing so antagonistic? I think voice to great effects sort of overpowers and even knocks down many of the other formal scaffoldings we might expect in a book. You know this antagonistic relationship to the form of the novel is certainly the big thing that was propelling me for sure because I don't really know what a novel is. Asher: What is your relationship to novels as a form? What is your notion of them coming into this project?
