Is Cardiovascular Type Exercise Better Than Weight Training?

I think we're beginning to appreciate the role that strength and muscle play a little bit more now. Being cardio vascularly fit gets you to let's call it old age without any sort of major chronic disease setting in. But being stronger at a certain point in your life, particularly as you get older, I think becomes the rate limiting parameter for doing particular things like standing up and getting out of a chair. So there's reason to believe that doing both is better for you.
