Shame is a sense of what I ought to do because of my relationships that I hold as valuable or failing to do. A good sense of shame is I have a sensitivity that I don't want to be that kind of person. We all have that. And so it's a mental boundary marker to say, yeah, I love this. I don't love that. The more and more we break from community, the more shameless in the negative sense we become.
