In John 18 and 19, when Jesus is confronting Pontius Pilate, that's the kingdom of God confronting the kingdom of Caesar. In our Western culture, ever since the 18th century, the church has backed off from that,. And now suddenly people are rushing back at the vote with stuff like 'If you're a Christian, you must vote this way' I'm rather in an odd way dreading Christmas because we're going to have most of the family around for it.
