Jane Austen really took off after her nephew published that biography of her in like the 1860s or something like that. There are theories that that was a publisher induced thing like she released sense and sensibility it was a success. Jane Austen didn't get a lot of recognition in her lifetime but then you know by By the 1900s, there's a whole subculture dedicated to loving Jane Austen.
