If God spoke the universe into existence, well, I think it's pretty clear language is important. And what better way to start the new year than to learn a new language with perhaps the most addicting and effective language learning app around, Babbel. Babbel is the incredibly fun and science-backed language learning app that makes, well, learning a new language fun. In fact, one study found that using Babbel for 15 hours is equivalent to a full semester at college. They didn't say which college, but still, it's pretty impressive. Over 16 million subscriptions have been sold, so don't be that friend that gets left out because you decided not to take Babbel with all your friends. It's fun. I really like clicking the pictures and hearing this very satisfying sound. Just think, in a couple months, you're sitting with your friends, talking about podcasts in your favorite cafe, and you rattle off how much you love Fichiers des Exorcistes, or The Exorcist Files, in French. Wow, they say, you are pretty cool. So start speaking in the good kind of tongues and get up to 60% off. Go to babbel.com/x files spelled B-A dot com slash E-X files and start learning a new language today. And like so many things in life, rules and restrictions may apply. Music

So where we left off, Dr. Jackson was telling us the story of how he and his team got to study the shroud before it was put back into its reliquary. Finally

it arrived, we set it up and then we started to get ready to execute. Now, this other problem that I told you about, if there's any problem about our academic freedom to withdraw our own scientific conclusions and not having the church get in the way of that, we would refuse to do the testing. Well, as it happened, I suddenly was presented with a letter saying exactly that, that you have to agree to let all the scientific data stay there in turn when you guys go back, and we're going to make decisions about what data you're going to get to study effectively. And I was presenting this with the Cardinal's science representative. It's like, oh geez, we're in a tight position. So what I said was, oh, this is not necessary. I was bluffing, really. This is not necessary. We have a signed agreement that we're going to have a confidentiality agreement for three years while we do the testing.
