Freud thought chinese was a vague and woolly language. He got this from the encyclopedio britannica, he says. But anyone who knows chinese would say that is not really the case at all. It's an example of how westerners extrapolated on something they don't know anything about - but yet are prepared to pronounce on based on very little evidence.
