The Divine Nature of Jesus Christ

The first half of the second article is about the divine nature of Jesus Christ. We don't get to his human nature until halfway through that second article when we say he came down from heaven, became incarnate of the Virgin Mary and was made human. The church fathers get this in spades. They say, look, there's two births of the Son of God. There has never been a time when there wasn't the Son. This is an eternal birth. It's kind of paradox of the Father originates the Son, but the Son has always existed. That's crucial in the confession against Arias who said, oh, yeah, there was once when the Son was not.
