The Paradox of Gratzia

Gratzia is a term that's traditionally used for poetry and it means grace. Vasari very much uses it to describe movement, particularly in courtly behaviour. And one of the very interesting things that Martin's alluded to, that Vasari does in each of his biographies, is try to get the artist's personality. It doesn't work all the time by a long way, but it sets a sort of pattern, doesn't it, Martin? We've still not ceased to be seduced by it.
