Jeff Fort's Role in the Chicago Gangs
Jeff Fort was a very charismatic figure. He fed the community, provided like free breakfast. The US government gave him money to establish this type of recreation center. Jeff Fort eventually would go to prison in 1972. When he went to prison, he decided that he was going to ditch the slave religion of Christianity and adopt actually the more science temple is what he adopted. But as you kind of know, the nation of Islam are kind of tapped into some of the same networks.
