The Origins of Astrology

We don't really know when people started to track the motions of the stars and interpret them. It has been a guess that it was far, far earlier than our records go. Evidence points to the fact that astronomy was developed because of astrology. The more general consideration was that the stars were seen as gods - their movement contained omens which could be read to tell what was happening on Earth.
