Lawyer: Courts think about whether some action is negligent was whether the benefits of the action were sort of greater than the costs. He asks, would you expect in one of these lawsuits for a company to say, look, we are on the cusp of a ethical transformation that will potentially lead us all to the singularity? And therefore, any action on our part to dumb down these models or make them more, say, more conservative, which is what you would need to get rid of the false quotes and the hallucinations?"
