How to Edit Dialogue for a Film
The script is, we shoot the script very strictly. There's no improvisation, there's no dialogue changes during the shoot. And if there is then I noted very carefully because obviously then I come in to do the edit and the first edit I do is with silent footage. So through utilizing this process for the last couple of films I've done I'm a pretty good lip reader now. So I can edit based on lip reading what the characters are saying...I quite often I'll say their dialogue out loud as I'm editing over the top of their mouths moving"
