What Do Critics Say About the Gini Coefficient?
There are critics of the sort of technical aspects of the Gini coefficient. Some people see it as a bit of a distraction. I suppose like any economic statistic, there's a case of garbage in garbage out. It depends on how good the statistics about income and population are. There is surely some value that can be made from comparisons across countries and over time.
